My Super Hero | Kickstart | Abdul

For this kickstart Summer learning Journey task we were requeired to make our own super hero using ai-crayon, once we added the promt we waited for the AI to generate our own image then we made our characters backround and information.

Abdul was a child raised on a farm in the year 2005, his father and mother, one day when they went into the city a building crumbled and fell on top of her crushing her and eventually killing her. Ever since he had a strong sense of justice wanting everyone to have a happy life. This sense of justice and compation.

This what caught the atention of the being only known as the ‘orginal being of the universe’. He explained to Abdul why he chose him as his avatar and told him to protect everyone and serve the people. From that day onwards he served the people of Afghanistan and made sure everyone has a second chance at life.

This activtiy was enjoyable as I got to explore my creativity and represent my culture and country.

Panmure Bridge Market Day

Panmure Bridge School hosted a market day for all classes, this was held on Wednesday this week. All classes had to make a unique concept of products and bring them to life to sell. LS2 made harakeke/flax fish, keyrings, bracelets and rings. If someone were to buy the flax fish they would get an additional free kit which had instructions on how to make a fish, this pack also came with a prebuilt fish, and a free star.

Then we set up our stall in front of the hall on the deck and displayed all of our products to sell. Our stall was quite popular as it was filled with fun colours and glitter. After we finished our stall we helped set up some of the others. Once they were completed all of the stalls were beaming with fun and exaggerated colours.

Finally some of us looked after the stall and sold the products. Our stall had a humongous crowd and sold everything that we had. I was the first person to look after the stall and help sell products. When we swapped with someone else we went and used our tokens to buy products from the stalls. We were all given 5 tokens to buy things from stalls. There was also music played on a speaker, which paired really well with the ambiance.

I found market day fun and filled with excitiment, I enjoyed creating the products to sell and helping look after the stall.

These Shoes have a story to tell

LI: To use the 5 senses and personification to help us paint a picture with words.

Our challenge was to co construct a text using personification and the senses to describe the story behind the shoes in this image. We sat back to back and weren’t able to talk with eachother, only use what the other person wrote to continue the text. Half way through Mrs Anderson challenged us to include a rhetorical question and a simile or metaphor.

Once we had completed this part of the challenge we joined together with another group to share our writing and make sure what we had written made sense.

After that part of the challenge was finished we used the punctuation points game to practice our use of punctuation. We marked eachother’s punctuation against the points table. We then had a chance to check our own work against the points table. That was fun because every point our partners missed menat we could take a point off theirs.

I found this activity very educational because not ony did the games help us learn more and practice more of these skills but it was also very fun.

What happened down the stairs?

LI: To understand the 5 senses can be used to strengthen a description

Our challenge was to co construct a text using the olfactory, auditory, gustatorial, visual and kinesthetic senses to describe the story behind the shoes in this image. This time we were able to speak and sat facing our partners discussing everything and this made it so much easier.

Once we had completed this part of the challenge we joined together with another group to share our writing and make sure what we had written made sense and had met the language feature challenge.

I found this activity fun  because I let my creativity come out and go wild.

Cultural Superheroes

LI: To describe your superhero

Our challenge was to design a DLO of the story they are in using key vocabulary from all our T- shaped units to describe them and their attributes. We built on this challenge by creating a slide that explained who our superhero was, their backstory, what their strengths and weaknesses were and who their nemesis was.

My superhero is abdul and his backstory summarized is ‘Abdul was a young man and an only child as his mother died by the hand of the taliban, he often helped his father on his farm but one day he saw a bright flash which was an astroied he went to investigate and he felt weird. The next day he found himself in the air flying, over the course of the few weeks he learnt to master his powers and used it to fight the taliban.

I found this activity interesting because I never thought I would make my own superhero, backstory, powers and everything, this whole idea is really vauge to me.

Inquiry | Maori Enterprise

For the past 2 weeks we have been learning about the history of Maori enterprise (Trading) what items they traded, the value and other things.

Maori enterprising first happend amoust themselves mainly between inland tribes and coastal tribes trading fish stocks for birds like kiwi and vise versa. This created an important interisland trading route in which everyone could trade for what they needed at that time.

5 sentence summery

The first Maori enterprise operation happend amongs themeselves mainly between inland and coastal tribes trading fish in exchange for birds were both items that the 2 tribes wanted were difficult to get from where they were located. This trading operation led to an interisland trade that was very crucial for tribes to get what they need. Later on when the Pakeha arrived in New Zealand they established a trading operation with the Maori, at first they often traded for fish stocks in ruturn for corned beef. Later on the Maori saw the potential of chisels and nails and started to request them for goodies to trade. This process kept on repating the Maori trading for new things that have potential and the pakeha trading for the natrual resources that the Maori had at their disposable.

This activtiy was intristing as I never had any prior knowledge about Maori enterprise and I got to expand my knowledge.

Spring Learning Journey | Activity 5

For thew spring learning jorney I have complated activity five, which was to create a spring garden in minecraft.

To make my garden we first started off by digging a big hole and switching the dirt with different types of stone blocks for texture. After we did that we filled it with water and added build a spruce bridge over it. Once we finished that we used Azalea leaves to create that shape of a circle and added flowers everywhere. Finally, we added a roof ontop of my garden and added leaves for decoration on top.

I enjoyed this activity because I got to work with my freinds to build this garden and we think it looks really amazing.

PB4L Equipment and Property

This week for PB4L we created a contract discussing respecting other peoples properties and belongings. An example of respecting other peoples property is not letting someone else use it without the owners permisson. It is important to look after any item that doesn’t belong to you that someone let you use because you never know what the impact is on the owner’s freinds, family, life and other things.

I found this activity helpful because some people might not know how to properly respect their or someones elses belongings and might anger someone this DLO can also help people with keeping their belongings safe.

Activity 11 | Spring Learning Journey

This week for the spring learning journey this activity required for us to make a fact file of our favorite animal for World Animal Day on october 4th.

Unfortunetly I was a little late for this activity so I am doing it now. This slide contains most information about the saltwater crocodiles, their habitats, size, diet, range, and traits.

This activtiy was fun as I got to learn more about an animal and expand my knowledge.

Activity 8 | Song Maker | Spring Learning Journey

This week for activity 8 we had to try to make a song that reminds us of spring using crome songmaker. Here is the link for the site https://musiclab.chrome experiments.com/Song-Maker/

unfortunately I couldint record the audio so you will need to test it out yourself, but these will serve as a good opportunity to explore your creativity and make a song that suits you.

This activity was fun as I could bring my creativity out and let it shape this song.
